Catering Manager

Job Description:

  1. Actively solicit new business and respond to inquiries with the intention of confirming profitable catering business and achieving Sales Goals. Maintain an active trace/follow-up system on all inquiries and personal sales calls.
  2. Conduct property tours
  3. Plan and/or attend and/or participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients, including but not exclusive to: daily Operations Briefing,  Banquet Event Order Meeting, Sales Meeting, etc.
  4. Coordinate the sales efforts between sales department and catering to insure proper utilization of function space to yield maximum revenues.
  5. Finalize the requirements of confirmed bookings while maximizing revenue potential through up selling and ensuring effective communication both written (Resumes, BEO, Daily Reports) and personal contact with all departments for the success of the event. Ensure accuracy of Banquet Checks and provide bill review on completion of program or event. Prepare a monthly booking report.
  6. Effective communication with appropiate manager to inform of situations or unusual matter so prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate.
  7. Supervise the execution of banquet events. Review all function space with banquet personnel.
  8. Ensure satisfaction of client at the outset of all events.
  9. Respond according to the crisis management plan to any resort emergency or safety situation.
  10. Working harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and executive committee.
 Excellent Time Management skills are a must.
Must be focused on revenue-producing activity. 
Develop customer profiles and maintain well documented, accurate, organized and up-to-date file management in order to serve client and employer needs .

* Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through appropriate client communication, sales & negotiating skills and the use of professional, courteous and ethical interpersonal interaction.

Job Requirements:

* At least 3 years iexperience in boutique hotel
* Must be proficient with Delphi, Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
* Have working knowledge of room set-ups, including audio visual/visual equipment.
* Have working knowledge of menu pricing and menu design.
* Sells and executes all aspects of the catering and event services as directed to include resumes and corresponding arrangements between the hotel and customer during meeting and event.
* Serves on site group and catering customers in a proactive manner relative to logistics of group room block, food and beverage, public meeting space and related billing processes.
* Flexible schedule is a must - ( AM / PM / week ends and holidays at times)
